She readied herself for bed and leaned over to blow out the lantern that sat in the open manor window, but something caught her eye. A small twinkling along the woods edge beckoning to her to follow.

She knew the woods were allows said to have been inhabited by the magical creatures that some had long forgotten and so gathering up the hem of her nightgown she crept from the manor house and made her way across the manicured lawn, through the decadent garden of roses and iris' and headed with only a small glimpse into the woods.

She followed, her lantern held high as she stumbled over tree roots , the cotton of her gown snagging on the briars of wild roses as she crept deeper into the woods.

The lantern flickered and in the pale glow of the light which illuminated from it was a small opening into the high bank. What lived there she had no idea but she had come out to find whatever had called her. She came searching for magic.
