Little Fairies Lost

They had been playing all day , running here and there among the trees and soon the bright moon made its trek across the darkening sky. They found they had become lost from the rest of the group .

Tears streaming down their round faces they wandered upon a small lake the moon giving them light. One held open her small hand, releasing a soft white light, a signal to the others should they get near enough to see it. Soon they sat down open a rock on the waters edge and the oldest lovingly and protectively wrapped her arm around her sister and softly hummed, trying to calm her.

"Shhh, it will be ok" she spoke softly trying to calm the fear and sadness in her own voice.

The stock for this pic is both pics I own myself. The background I took on a hiking trip while I was a Girl Scout Leader. The two little girls? Me and my sister in 1978. We were three and it was taken by my grandmother a few months before my sister died of Viral Meningitis.

So.. I dedicate this picture in her memory.
