A Magical Encounter

She made her way out the door when she saw the little lights flickering along her fence. She loved lightning bugs, but the closer she got the wider her eyes became as she took in the fairies dancing in and around the ivy.

Quietly she eased up, her eyes even wider as she saw the biggest fairy she had ever imagined sitting on a small flower watching the others.

Quick as a bird in flight she picked up the fairy, carefully not to hurt her and cupped her gently in her hands. She smiled down at her before hearing the screen slam to the back door and turned her head to catch her little brother heading out toward her.

Not wanting to share her find, knowing he would be mean to the fairy she sat her easily down behind a small log and ran back out to him with a small smile and a glance behind her , she herded him off to catch the lightning bugs on the other side of the yard.
